Synopsis: The artist and filmmaker Inés García (Bilbao, 1983) revisits the Winterreise (Winter Journey) by Franz Schubert, the founding composer of Romanticism. These songs for piano and voice, written at the end of his life and based on 24 poems by Wilhelm Müller, narrate the wanderings of a walker wounded by love through a snowy landscape. With a 16mm camera, the artist delves into the difficult art of translating music and its moods into images, composing a version that is as poetic as it is moving.

Synopsis: Extraordinary portrait of Omar Blondin Diop, Senegalese militant and intellectual, and J.L. Godard’s actor in La Chinoise (1967), who died in a prison in his country under strange circumstances at the age of 27. The artist and filmmaker Vincent Meessen constructs a beautiful film that plays between film and metafilm, documentary and fiction, politics and cinema. It is a narration of different layers in which Omar’s life emerges, told collectively by his relatives, who recover this forgotten memory.

Synopsis: Young filmmaker Payal Kapadia’s first feature film is a hypnotic love story that flows through mysterious letters written by student L to student K. Both residents of the country’s Institute of Cinema and Film, they suffer a situation convoluted by caste differences and the weight of tradition. As the words pour out, impressive student protests grow in the face of a corrupt, unjust and repressive system. A hybrid story full of dreams, passion and revolt, an extraordinary essay in which Marker and Pasolini, among others, resonate. A memorable impression of contemporary India.
