Synopsis: Malika, an elderly and corpulent woman, runs a tiny, isolated rest-stop café in the depths of southern Algeria. It seems that nothing should happen there, but in the middle of the desert there are a lot of adventures. Director Hassen Ferhani (Dans ma tête, un rond-point, 2015), draws an unforgettable portrait together with producer Narimane Mari (Loubia hamra, 2014). Both have made some of the most wonderful films about Algeria in recent years.

Synopsis: In today’s wars, there is apparently no darkness. On the one hand, the media shows us the images. On the other hand, soldiers’ cameras can even see at night. Eléonore Weber brings together images from helicopters on mission in the Middle East to produce a penetrating essay on looking and being seen, living or dying. She reflects on all that remains hidden, paraphrasing John Huston in his post-war film Let There Be Light (1946), shot so that nothing would remain opaque.
